Golden Pan-Seared Cod with Gnocchi & Broccoli ๐๐ฅฆ
A comforting yet sophisticated bowl featuring perfectly seared flaky cod, pillowy gnocchi, and tender broccoli in a light, savory sauce.
Ingredients
1 (6 oz) ๐ Cod fillet, skin off
1 cup ๐ฅ Potato gnocchi
1/2 cup ๐ฅฆ Broccoli florets
2 tbsp ๐ง Butter
1 clove ๐ง Garlic, minced
1/4 cup ๐ฅฃ Chicken or vegetable broth
A splash ๐ฅ Heavy cream
For garnish ⚫ Black sesame seeds and microgreens
Preparation
1️⃣ Cook Gnocchi & Broccoli: Boil the gnocchi according to package instructions. In the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets to blanch them. Drain and set aside.
2️⃣ Sear Cod: Pat the cod fillet dry and season with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the cod for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through. Set aside.
3️⃣ Make Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter and sautรฉ the minced garlic until fragrant. Pour in the broth and cream, simmering until the sauce slightly thickens.
4️⃣ Combine: Add the cooked gnocchi and broccoli to the skillet, tossing gently to coat in the sauce.
5️⃣ Serve: Spoon the gnocchi and broccoli mixture into a bowl. Place the seared cod fillet on top and garnish with a sprinkle of black sesame seeds and fresh microgreens.
